Choose the email address to use as your Apple ID

Hello

My Apple ID has a @mac.com, @me.com and @icloud.com addresses.

The @mac.com address is set as default and it doesn't work - can't send/receive emails.

For long time you couldn't set one of the other addresses as primary - but I noticed that there's a new option in the appleid.apple.com website.

On Account > Apple ID there's now 'Edit Email Address' - when selected, it allows me to choose my primary email address: "Choose the email address to use as your Apple ID:" and I can select between my 3 email addresses.

However, no matter what email address I select, I see the following error message: "Error Description not available" - See screenshot attached

Anyone can help?

Hi acecco01,

The resource provides some troubleshooting steps for your iCloud email account. Changing the Apple ID is not the resolution to your issue. The @me.com and @icloud.com addresses are aliases of the @mac.com address. Is the issue happening on your computer? Are you able to receive and send email when you go to the www.icloud.com website? Click on the link for complete information. There is a link to the iCloud Support team if your issue still persists after following these steps.
