can I delete files from the activity monitor app

I have an app [TrendMicro Security] that runs automatically on my mac El Capitan OS.

This would be great if it worked with the new El Capitain OS--it doesn't.

I see the files running on the Activity Monitor but I can not find the files even in Hidden Application Support like it says they are located?

Any suggestions as to how to permanently delete this app and its files.

Thank you for any help you can share with me.

Remove the Trend Micro product by following the instructions on this page. Restart. If the program was incompletely removed, reinstall it and start over.

Back up all data before making any changes. Never install any "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" product again.

Two ideas:

1) You do not need antivirus or other "protection software" - they do more harm than good

2) Follow the instructions to uninstall: a quick google search got me to those instructions and they do NOT say to look in Application Support.

There should be an Uninstall program in /Applications/Trend Security

In System Preferences->Users & Groups, check your Login Items. Delete the application from there.

Issue solved--thank you all.

Yes Mac is good without virus protection but this is a school computer that was mandated to run the Trend previously.

All is good now. :-)
