Remove from iPhone safari download-a.akamaihd.net

HOw can I remove from my iPhone (5S) and from safari https://download-a.akamaihd.net most of the posts talk about Mac or Windows but how can I I resolve this with my iPhone? I'm concerned just how invasive this might be. i don't need responses telling me how it is or isn't invasive, just how to remove it please.

THe area where I see it is any download, even a podcast for instance routes it's download through that site.

Thanks

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2.1

II think I have found my answer... I reprint the article for any who need to get an answer. Thanks Paul.

I just downloaded the 2016 Year Book and noticed that it came via akamaihd.net. This took me by surprise as I had never noticed it before, and I wondered if the file I was downloading was legit or had been hacked.

In case anyone else is interested:

A Whois search shows that akamaihd.net is registered by Tucows, though I don't know if they are the actual owners. https://who.is/whois/akamaihd.net/

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is a content delivery network or CDN and cloud services provider headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States. Akamai's content delivery network is one of the world's largest distributed computing platforms, responsible for serving between 15 and 30 percent of all web traffic. The company operates a network of servers around the world and rents capacity on these servers to customers who want their websites to work faster by distributing content from locations close to the user. Over the years their customers have included Apple, Facebook, Bing, Twitter, eBay and healthcare.gov. When a user navigates to the URL of an Akamai customer, their browser is redirected to one of Akamai’s copies of this website, almost entirely invisible to the vast majority of its users.

Thanks Meg but this doesn't work. Nice cat by the way 🙂 I had a British blue called Elle Once upon a time. I have many times deleted the files, but several sites that allow you to download a file, even just a podcast or an ePub, file, will revert to "download-a.akamaihd" as the route through which the download comes. Most of that site refers to Mac issues rather than the tiny bit about iOS. And it applies to pop ups. This isn't a pop up, it's a route for downloads that I did not choose, and do not want. I first experienced it on my mainframe which I now rarely use, and now I'm seeing it on my iPad and iPhone. Which are setting the latest iOS. Both histories have been regularly wiped, the issue continues.
