problems with Bluetooth connections to Mac OS X 10.10 for Magic Mouse & Keyboard

Has anyone else encountered problems with keeping Bluetooth connections of Magic Mouse & Magic Keyboard using Mac OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite? The issue seems intermittent and as I use a MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) it seems to occur about every 3rd time I go to hook up back at the office? It clears if I restart MacBook Pro but seems odd and I only just upgraded from Mac OS X 10.8.5 less than a week ago and didn't have any of these issues, so seems like a software issue rather than hardware. Any advice greatly appreciated.

If your Wi-Fi is capable of generating a 5 GHz signal, try that.

Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time.

Reset NVRAM/PRAM
