HD access rules of MBA : Sharing & permission

Mac Book Air 2012

HD > get Info > Sharing & Permission

1) Original settings

System : read & write

Wheel : read & write

Everyone : read & write

2) Changed to :

System : read & write ( no change)

Wheel : read & write ( no change )

Everyone : change to NO ACCESS .

Result: I can not access the MBA anymore .

Question : how can this action be undone or how can the original setting be reinstalled ?

Thanks for any advice

Which version of the OS is it running?

If you're running 10.7 or later, your system has a 'Recovery Mode' partition which you can use to boot your system. Hold Command-R as you power on, then you can repair your disk permissions (via Disk Utility), which should fix the problem.

If you're on 10.6 or earlier you can boot into single-user mode by holding Command-S as you power-on the system. This will get you into a shell environment, where you can use the command-line: chmod 777 / to reset the boot drive permissions.
