Q: Mac won't connect to iTunes Store

Mac will open iTunes but won't connect to iTunes Store.  Blames suspicious server, then an error.  Everything is up to date.  Not sure, but this may have started with very recent installation of El Cap.  OTOH, the iPad connects with no problem using the same wifi network.  Suggestions?

    Hello Shane,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are having difficulties accessing the iTunes Store from your Mac. I would suggest you take a look at the suggestions offered in the following article:

If you can’t connect to the iTunes Store

    Best regards.

Thanks, but none of those suggestions work.  Spent hours on the phone yesterday with an Apple representative yesterday, even installing a new iTunes and reinstalling El Cap.  Nothing works.  As I noted, the iPad works fine, and my network is all up and running fine.  I connect to the App Store with no problem — just iTunes Store is an issue.  Says can't connect to server, then gives an error message.  Could this be related to internet provider?  We get our connection via micro wave relay antenna which is hard wired directly to my Airport Extreme.

BTW, I have also hard wired the Mac directly to the ISP input via ethernet eliminating the wifi network from the picture.  No change in accessing iTunes Store.

Here's the solution, and it's easy.  Open Login certificates in the Keychain.  Delete the Version certificates you find there. Voila!  Restart and open the ITunes Store.  IMHO, this should have been obvious to Apple techs given the "invalid certificate" message that pooped up when the Store would not open.

That is Verisign certificates, not Version (spell checker action)
