Q: If The phone app was left on screen and the phone auto locked is it counting from that time until you get back and unlock the phone?

I Checked my battery usage and it shows the phone app is 2 hours on screen. I did not make any phone calls for 2 hours how did it read 2 hours on screen? Could the app be left on screen then the phone auto locked?
