Q: Fotos does not show all Fotos in Fotostream

Hi,

on all my iOS devices (2 iPads and 2 iPhones), fotos shows exactly 1000 fotos.

But as i use fotos today on two different MACs (same software versions), theiMAC shows only 27 and the macbook pro shows 25 picture.

But where are all the other photos, which are still and definitely in the cloud?

Does anybody else has exact the same failure?

This feature worked fine for a long time and I don´t know, since when in is broken.

Here are my informations:

IMAC and macbook:

OSX 10.11.3

fotos: Version 1.3 (350.23.0)

Thanks and regards

Oliver

Your iPad and iPhone may show more photos in the phto stream, than are currently in icloud.  The devices will keep up to  1000  photos from My Photo Stream, if the space permits. But iCloud will keep only the photos added during the last month, that may be much less that you are seeing on devices that have been syncing with my Photo stream for a longer time.

If you enable My Photo Stream or the first time on a different device, it can only download what is currently in iCloud, and that are  usually less photos thaan you are seeing on the devices, that have been syncing with My Photo Stream for a longer time.

See this link:  Get help using My Photo Stream - Apple Support

I see different photos in the My Photo Stream album on each of my devices

Your device will keep up to 1,000 photos, even if they're older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream, your devices might not have the same photos. Due to capacity, your Apple TV might display only your most recent photos.

    Hi and thanks leonie,

that surely can be one explanation, but all four apps on all four devices were in sync, means all fotos were available also on the MACs, since I look today. Than they were blown away. Why are they older fotos gone away on the MACs, thats may question.

    regards

Did you turn off My Photo Stream on a Mac, or switch between Photo Libraries?  Any change of the iCloud preferences or upgrading the system or similar might cause My Photo Stream to download again from iCloud and to start over.

Did you perhaps install a system upgrade?

    Hi Leonie,

no new setup and no changes from me on the iCloud preferences.

I am not sure, if I made any other changes against both systems and the App Store one shows updates of the last 30 days.

So it seems it stays as a secret but thx for the help.

Sorry, then I am running out of ideas.

I never use the photo stream to store photos anyway. I import the photos I want, when they appear in the stream, and then never look at my Photo Stream again.
