Q: Black flickering horizontal lines on a display Macbook 12"

I was wondering if any owner of macbook 12" has also problems with little black flickering horizontal lines on the display. They are seen best in the bright display (max light) on white background?

I've noticed them very early within days of first use, had the display replaced and for now (1 month after repair), it's ok but my friend that just got the macbook for xmas, has noticed them on hers as well. I check few MacBooks in local apple store, 50% were having same problem. Just wondering if there's some issue in the long term with the built and way cable runs from monitor.

Do not assume that Apple notebooks can bend the screen beyond the point where you feel resistance.  Unlike some notebook computers they do not flip a full 180 from the keyboard.    If you feel resistance, stop.    If you depressed too hard on the screen, you can fray the cable and cause an expensive hardware fault.

Also don't leave the machine asleep inside your travel bag.  It can wake up, and cause the machine to overheat.   Shut it down before you travel.

If neither of these applies to you, run the hardware test that came with the computer to see if anything is detected.  Boot with the 'D' key and follow the Extended test.

Regardless of the results, bring it in for repair if you are under AppleCare.

If the machine is over a year old and you didn't get AppleCare, it probably will cost a tidy sum to repair.   Always a good idea to get AppleCare before the machine reaches its one year anniversary of purchase, especially with notebooks.  Note, they may establish you caused the damage that causes it to flicker.  In which case AppleCare wouldn't matter.  But since we are end users here, we can't predict the response.
