As your platform?  What exactly do you mean by that?    Google Chrome is a web browser, like Safari or Firefox.

What exactly do you want to do with it?

While Google still offers a version of Chrome that will run on OSx Lion, it will stop supporting it on April.

The Web has come a long way in 4-5 years since OS X Lion was released. You don't tell us what your motivation is in wanting use Chrome Browser, but I suspect that you having less than stellar results and performance with the Safari version that old.

According to reports, even if you upgraded your OS X (you don't tell us exactly what model MacBook Air you have - when did you buy it?) - you may still find your overall system resources strained to their limits, thus slowing things down a lot.

Tell us a detailed  Story, rather than ask specific questions, so that we may understand fully what you are experiencing and what your goal(s) are.

My guess is that you may have the 2GB RAM version of the Late 2010 MBAir? If so, you are likely to continue to be plagued with less than perfect results browsing the web, no matter what browser you use. Chrome will likely gobble up all available RAM when running all by itself

If I were you, I would try Firefox... this link will likely detect your Mac & OSX, then offer the right version to you > https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/desktop/

Be prepared to run ONLY the browser and take the few seconds to close it and open other stuff as needed

I have an old PowerBook that I can use for ONLY Firefox and Outlook Express satisfactorily at once - even then I keep Activity Monitor open to see when a relaunch of Firefox might be helpful

Please do not post your serial number in a public forum.

If you wish to keep using Chrome, Your best option is to update your MacBook Air to El Capitan so you can get the newer version of Chrome that will continue to be supported on OSx 10.11 El Capitan.

Other than that, you could try to use Firefox which is still fully supported on OSx 10.7 Lion
