Q: Group chat unavailable

Within our Mac-based office we use Messages and the Bonjour service to chat with each other.  We have a mix of Yosemite and El Capitan users.  I'm trying to set up some groups, but if I try to send a message to more than one user, their names turn red and give the message: *user* cannot group chat.  Additionally, the menu item File > Go to Chat Room is greyed out and unavailable.  Is this perhaps a limitation of Bonjour, or is there a way to make it work?

    Hi,

It is a strange limitation of Bonjour.

It means in a home situation you have to message you kids individually to get them to the table for a meal.

However it has been there since day one of iChat.
