The hourly Stand goal is achieved when you stand up and move around for at least one minute during that hour.
Apple Watch uses an accelerometer to identify movement, so a minute's walk around with your arms swinging naturally should help to register this.

Feb 24, 2016 10:53 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Doug Eldred,I understand the feature. What I'm saying is that standing up and moving a little does NOT always work, and I haven't yet figured out a really reliable way to get it to work. If anyone has a guaranteed "stand and move" strategy it would be useful. (On my support call yesterday, I was told that his daughter finds that putting her arm over her head works!)

If you are unable to achieve consistent results by doing this, consider calibrating your watch.
Calibration can improve the accuracy of various estimations made by the Activity app (by teaching your watch how arm motion relates to your movements at different speeds).

Mar 8, 2016 12:10 PM in response to Doug Eldredby Doug Eldred,Increasingly, I'm seeing that JUST standing often seems to work better than standing AND moving around a little, as instructed. Sometimes not, and sometimes nothing I do seems to be successful. Oh, well, it can't really see what I'm doing, I guess!
