Q: set up iCloud with wrong mail ad and password. nobody could help us so far. hopeless..

Hey

My auntie bought herself an iPhone for the first time. She never had a smartphone before and she is not very good with computers. When she started the phone she had to set up iCloud and she misspelled her mail address and her password. So now she can't sign into iCloud. She couldn't even set it up completely because she can't confirm her email address because the address doesn't exist. We went to the apple store a couple of times but the guys couldn't help us. The guys at the support hotline couldn't help us either. Please help us :/

    Hello there, LettaH.

It sounds like you are just trying to create an iCloud account to setup a new iPhone a few typos were made and the account wasn't created correctly. It would seem you would just want to get the iCloud account setup correctly so that then you can setup the iPhone with the right account information.

If you just want to add her iCloud account to the phone as it is currently, then make sure you've signed out of the iCloud account per the information found in this Knowledge Base article:

Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once signed out, proceed to step 2 in this article:

Set up iCloud on all your devices - iOS

    Turn on iCloud.

When you turn on a new iOS device or after you’ve completed the update to the latest version of iOS, follow the instructions in the setup assistant to activate your device and set up iCloud.1

If you skipped the setup process, tap the Settings icon on the Home screen, select iCloud, then enter your Apple ID.

    Free iCloud email account.

With iCloud, you can get an iCloud.com email account that’s ad-free, is up to date everywhere you check it, and includes webmail at iCloud.com. Just turn on Mail in iCloud settings and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you just want the phone to be restored to factory settings or as new, so that you can begin the setup process again, then this article provides the steps to follow:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

    Erase your device

Erasing all content and settings will delete all of the data from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and anything else. All device settings are restored to their factory condition.

To remove all settings and information from your device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

If you can't erase your device, restore the device using iTunes.

Set up your device as a new device

After your device is erased, you should see the following screen:

Follow the steps to complete the setup assistant. When prompted, select "Set Up as New iPhone." Then tap Next.

Then proceed with the previous article on how to setup the phone again.

Let us know how that works out for you.
