MacBook Pro (Early 2015) hard drive upgrade

What type of SSD will work in an early 2015 MacBook Pro 13 inch screen? I was told by someone that Apple no longer uses SATA drives and that they now have their own proprietary hard drives and hard drive connectors. Can someone clarify this for me? I'd like to upgrade a 256GB drive to 500GB.

These are the PCIe SSDs that the new Macbook Pros use. http://store.mcetech.com/mm/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=mtos&Screen=CTGY&Category_Co de=PCIEFLASH

However, if you open your Macbook Pro you will void the warranty.

New mac systems use card style SSDs instead of 2.5 in block style (look up mSATA and M2 style SSDs). And Apple uses a proprietary interface protocol so you cannot buy just any off-the-shelf SSD card.

Another senior contributor uses a low-profile SD-card like this http://www.microcenter.com/product/441001/128GB_SDHC_Flash_Memory_Module that can stay plugged into the SD slot all of the time and not poke-out. Also external enclosures can swap bare-drives for almost unlimited additional storage.

Given that the MacBook Pro I was referring to is 2015 and uses the PCIe, it appears I can upgrade it with another PCIe drive. But YES it will void my warranty which I don't have anyway. The other downside is that PCIe drives are SOOO expensive right now. Apple is selling a 500GB for $680 ouch!
