How to get original Disk Utility for mid-2010 iMac. I want to burn CDs and DVDs but it will not use Disk Utility V 15.0 which is what I have. The originalOS 10.6.3 is now 10.11.3. How do I get the original Disk Utility to burn a CD?

When I try to burn a CD for a PowerPoint it opens my Disk Utility V. 15.0. The error message says to install the original Disk Utility that came with the computer when I bought it in 2010 with OS 10.6.3. I have continuously upgraded and now have OS 10.11.3. I have also upgraded the Disk Utility to V 15.0. I cannot find what version I need in order to work with OS 10.11.3. I cannot find how to get that original version. I simply need to burn CDs and DVDs. Help!

Thougj my basic question is how do I burn a CD or DVD on Version 10.11.3? Can I do it without the original Disk Utility?

FWIW, Disk Utility is part of the OS install and you cannot use an earlier or different version than what is automatically installed with the OS version you have.

If you still have a problem after checking Mike's link, your error message might have something to do with your Power Point version? Is it compatible with 10.11.3?
