my Mac went black with the wording in different languages that the computer have a problem. Please wait a few minutes or press any key to shut down

while working my Mac went black with the wording in different languages that the computer has an error. Please wait a few minutes or press any key to restart. If I restart or shutdown and start again, the same black screen and wording come up. It only allow me up to my log in icon. After I enter the password, the white line runs full and then it goes black again. Any ideas or explanations?tx

That is a kernel panic, and is usually caused by faulty hardware or drivers. Read OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem." - Apple Supp… and follow all the steps in that document.

Temporarily bypass your Login Items by holding a shift key while logging in with your password. That will isolate the potential cause to one or more items specified in Users & Groups > Login Items.
