Are there any aps to increase the iphone's volume?

We just got my motherinlaw (87 years young) an iPhone 5S. She is hard of hearing (wears hearing aids) and is having trouble with the volume. She is able to hear ok on the speaker setting with the volume all the way up. Is there any way to increase the volume without putting it on speaker?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2.1

Hey there!

I just have a few questions and suggestions right off the bat:

1.) When the phone is not on speaker and you adjust the volume, does it show that it is all the way up?

2.) In Settings > Sounds there should be a bar for Ringer and Alerts that you can adjust for specifically ringers and alerts

3.) In Control Center, you can adjust the volume there as well. Use Control Center on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

4.) If she uses a hearing aid accessory with the phone, you could also have a look in Settings > General > Accessibility Use Accessibility features in iOS - Apple Support

I hope she ends up enjoying her phone. 🙂
