Listening to audio sent via email

I just updated my iphone 5's software to iOS 9.2.1, and now that i have, i can no longer listen to audio sent to me via email outside of the email app. I have a ton of audio that i often send to myself via email to listen to on my phone, things like recordings from a music class, or spoken poetry, or audio for videos that i work on, and i used to be able to listen to those outside the email app. I could open another app and listen, or just lock my phone and listen while i'm on the go, but after the update, i can no longer do this. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? I would hate to be limited to listening to audio that's been synced via itunes, because sometimes i'm working on computers that don't have itunes installed.

in all the writing, you still didn't explain in detail what your issue is.

Hi there

My friend is having the same issue.

After doing the latest iPhone update iOS 9.2.1 my friend is unable to listen to voice memos. The voice memos are sent and received via iMessage but when the phone locks the message pauses. To continue to listen to the message the phone has to be unlocked. She has tried emailing it to herself and the same thing happens.

Is there anyway to change the phone settings to stop it from doing this?

Any help would be fantastic.
