Q: How can I change the rescue email on my account???

My wife and I had family share on our iphones 5c & 5s.  We have decided not to do that anymore so we changed back.  Somehow my phone (5c) insists on using a email address that is not longer valid as my rescue address on my itune/apple id account and I can't figure out how to get it out of there and change the rescue address.    Any help on this out there?????    Thanks, Larry
