Try resetting the device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds - no kidding). Once the Apple appears the device is resetting and the Slide to Unlock screen will display shortly. At that point, you should be all set.

Thanks Gail,That is a very good answer and I have tried it but, no result. Let me give a little more info on what I see on the frozen screen  There is a little camera icon on the bottom right corner, then on top of it a line of tiles going across. At times when I am messing with it,  I have seen the pass code screen pop up saying " enter pass code to use SIRI, but the scree remain frozen, no access . Has anybody out there gone through this with IPhone 5c?. I have waited 3 days for the battery to die and see if it would reset once plugged in to charge again. Please help.

You can try putting it into DFU mode to see if it will reset (courtesy of Lawrence Finch):

    DFU mode:

    • Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer if it isn't there already ( (you must have Windows 7 or later or OS X 10.8.5 or later)
    • Reboot your computer
    • Disable any antivirus and firewalls
    • Launch iTunes
    • Connect the device cable to a USB port on the computer (not to a USB hub), but DO NOT CONNECT TO THE DEVICE YET
    • Press and hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time for exactly 8 seconds, until the screen turns black, then release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button. If an Apple logo appears while holding both buttons you held for too long; start over.
    • While still holding the HOME button connect the other end of the cable to the device
    • You should see a message in iTunes saying a phone in Recovery mode has been detected (it may take up to a minute for the message to appear). When you see that message release the HOME button and the device should restore.

    Best of luck,
