Q: Storage Problem

Hello,

 

I have just bought MacAir...after couple of weeks when i was checking my available storage space  I was surpise  to see that 50 GB is been occupied by Apps

I don't have any such application nor any games downloaded.

 

would like love this problem

    To fix the problem you have to find the 50G (more or less) of extra data.

    Open a console and digit:

    du -h /Applications > $HOME/Desktop/Application.txt

     

    At the end open the file Application.txt that is on your Desktop.

    The last line is the total (50G).

    If so you can look at single application and identify the biggest one.

    If you are looking at the display produced in 'About This Mac', be advised that it has a bug in it and is not to be relied upon for accurate information.  Often, but not always, iy can be corrected by reindexing Spotlight.

    DaisyDisk is a helpful program [paid] that can be used to visualize where that data is being used.

    Sometime the files are just temporary and will clear themselves after a restart.
