My account was hacked into last night so I changed my passwords etc and it says the only device active is mine,how do I know this is right? And how can you find out who did this?

Glad you got your account back. If you have not already setup your account with the advanced security options that Apple offers, I suggest looking into Two-Factor Authentication.

Also be wary of phishing emails as this is one of the most common ways for attackers to learn your login information.

You will have no means of using reverse knowledge of the person who attempted to gain access to your account. At best, you will be given a city and state of the location that the IP address was pinged at, but that is as far as it goes.
