connect ipad to ethernet

Our charity has been offered office space with one desk and an ethernet port. There is no wifi, and since it is a police radio dispatching center, we might not be allowed to use our own wifi access point. Some of our disaster responders use iPads. How can we connect the iPads to ethernet?

The following combination worked for me several times with iPad Air and iPad Pro 9.7 inch and iPhones 5s, 6 plus, 6s plus and 7 plus.

I used that combination without any hassle and problems for itunes store downloads, downloads of system updates, icloud backups etc. With the device in flight mode and no wifi or mobile connection.

Apple USB Ethernet Adapter -> Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter -> iOS device & Lighntning cable -> charger.

Here are the Apple Store Links for

Here is how to connect to an ethernet cable without WiFi.

I have no idea if Apple officially supports this. I have not tested. It's been reported as working for several years. You may get an error message. Ignore.

There are multiple youtube videos reporting that you can connect an iPad via Ethernet cable.

see suzyfromoz on the last page of
How do I connect my iPad to the internet when only a wired connection is available? Thanks

You need
-- apple Camera connection kit
-- powered USB hub
-- apple USB to Ethernet connector.

[ yes you need apple connectors ]

Would be an interesting test if you could get more than one iPad to work off the same ethernet cable via multiple apple Camera connection kits.

Here are more ways and examples, google:
