How do i delete my history without being signed out of everywhere?

Ok. So i've updated my Mac to OS X El Capitan and since then, i'm having some problems with it. For instance, when i clear the history (i use Safari), i'm automatically disconnected from all sites and all data, erased. I have to constantly connect on every single site, just to be disconnected a few hours later. It's sooooo annoying!! Does anyone know how can i stop this thing from signing me out from everywhere??

In the latest Safari version, you can no longer erase history without also erasing cookies (which is where your log in info is stored). I also clear history, usually when I'm done for the day as it makes the browser run faster (caching old history really is no longer needed what with the faster processors and more RAM - no need to make it look for old data). I cannot erase all cookies as I have a couple of pesky bank sites which will not recognize me without a cookie and I have to spend about an hour to get "recognized". So, I no longer use Safari, but Firefox instead. You can still customize what you want cleared and clear all/some history as well as manually delete selected cookies. Most financial sites do log you out automatically - as does this site.

If you are using safari browser take cursor on top menu bar History , hold option key and scroll down , click on clear history and keep website data .

A pop - up window will appear , do the settings ( clear all history ) as shown in the screen shot and click on Clear History .

It will clear your history but website data ( cookies will not be deleted ) .

As cookies are small bits of information left on the computer by website you have visited , which let the website remember things about you .

@Luis, first of all, thank you for your answer! It may seem a bit contradictory, indeed In fact, it is. But it is possible to erase the history and stay signed on into different sites. Before i upgraded to El Capitan, i didn't have this problem at all. Now, i can't stay signed in not even on Gmail, wich is pretty important and it's getting more annoying everyday to have to type the user and password. I clear the history, i'm disconnected from Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Youtube, etc. And ohh... it's just an old habit (deleting history). I can't seem to get rid of it...
