Jun 20, 2016 5:11 PM in response to dan metzby iDevice-a-licious,Same here - fails to install, and never shows up again under Updates in Software Updates.
I checked and I do NOT have the correct firmware or micro port firmware.
It keeps complaining that it failed to install, but there is no option to install it from within Software Updates.
Is there a direct link to this update somewhere?

Jun 20, 2016 6:27 PM in response to iDevice-a-liciousby jndupuis1,I believe this link will provide some help not listed in the previously posted link. Firmware is picky about the conditions that need to be met for correct install. Try these tips in this Apple Support Tip:

Hope this helps!

Jun 21, 2016 12:36 AM in response to jndupuis1by iDevice-a-licious,Nope, tried everything listed on that page. Have only 1 Thunderbolt display, and made sure to leave my laptop lid open and plugged in.
The problem is that there IS no update listed for my system anymore, so even if I've met all the criteria for installing, there is *nothing* to install. Software Update shows no updates available, however, all the firmware versions (main and micro) are still older, and the warning keeps popping up when I start my machine.
And my laptop has been acting worse and worse as I plug it into the TB display. It often won't even connect (i.e. ever get out of a black screen) until I reboot. So I have a feeling this update would really help me... if I could get it to install.
That's why I asked if there's a direct link to this update somewhere. Or a setting/file I can change so that Software Update lists it again to install.

Check to see if your Mac has it's latest Security Update as well in System Report, otherwise, you may need a Genius Bar appointment.
