I Apologize for not knowing all the correct lingo, but after re-installing OS, my computer freezes, spinning wheel, on any window I barely move. I assume hardware issue? (Erased HD to try to resolve this same issue).

Problem: Computer is too slow
Description:
Whenever I move a window, the computer freezes. Before I erased the HD, it would crash, or I would get the spinning beach ball indefinitely. I would often have to crash restart. 😟
I since erased HD and have only been trying Safari and Firefox to replicate my problem. It persists, although not as much…and it hasn’t really beach balled yet. (20 minutes…?) But I feel I should be able to move windows around freely regardless.
