Does iCloud would help with my installed apps?

Hi, my iPhone is getting full. I use the apps I have installed almost everyday. I don't have 'crapps' installed. But here's the thing. I have Google Drive for docs, Google Music for my mp3s and Google Photos for my pics. My phone is empty of files but my apps takes too much space. I deleted apps that I can live without like dropbox and whassap but I still have to make space for my internal storage. here is my question: If I upgrade the iCloud storage, do I would be seeying changes in my phone? Or it will be just like Google Drive to storage documents and all of that. I need to free up my iPhone for my apps not for saving any document. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
