Q: iPhone 6: Cameras not working, iOS 9.2.1
Hi,
My mum recently updated her iPhone 6 to iOS 9.2.1. After a few days, both the rear and front facing cameras stopped working. The front does not work, and the rear sometimes works for a few seconds before stopping, and reverting to a black screen.
Eventually she got sick of this and just went and bought a 6S, but she's given the 6 to me and I'm trying to get it working. I reset and erased the iPhone, which did not help.
Since the rear camera sometimes works, I don't believe the issue is hardware related. In saying that however, there is some redness near the top of the display, the front facing camera is affected by "#crescentgate", and there is some minor bending (as in, hardly noticeable) on the left side.
I really hope the issue is simply software related, since I'd love to move up from the 5s (I really don't see the point in spending upwards of NZ$200 to get the screen and rear camera replaced).
As a last resort, I might try chucking an iOS beta on it (I run the beta on my 5s, and maybe some sort of iOS reinstall might get it working), but I'd prefer to stick with the release builds.
It'd be great to hear any ideas you might have.
