Q: Why does highlighting text make Safari scroll to the bottom of the page?

I understand that when you select text in WordPress or Blackboard, the cursor is erratic and Safari scrolls to the bottom of the page.  You don't indicate if you are using a trackpad or a mouse, but the resource below provides troubleshooting steps for all input methods.   Trying a different mouse or input device, and restarting the Mac in Safe Mode would be good places to start troubleshooting this issue.
