Q: Can’t share MacMini across network

Can’t share MacMini across network

I have a late 2012 MacMini.Connected to the Mac is a 6TB drive where I keep all my media.

We have 2 other Macs in the house and I normally just connect to the MacMini across the network. The connected drive normally appears on the desktop and I use Kodi to browse and watch movies.

I’ve recently upgraded the MacMini to 16gb and installed El Capitan and bought a new 6TB external drive. Since I’ve upgraded, I’ve not been able to get the MacMini to share across the network.

It appears in the list of shared devices on a window but when I click it, it just pops up saying not connected.

Just to confirm:

Sharing is on

The connect drive is added to the shared folders

Users & Groups is set to Staff, Everyone, Administrators and System administrators – everyone basically - who all have read/write access.

And thats it. It just will not connect. Both the other Macas connect to each other one but on both the other Macs e just can’t connect to the Mini

Any ideas?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)
