iPhone 5 goes straight to voicemail when connected to Bluetooth

When my iPhone 5 is connected to Bluetooth in the car it won't receive calls; callers go straight to my voicemail. There are no problems making calls, or streaming music via Bluetooth in the car, just receiving calls. When not connected to Bluetoth, receiving calls is no problem. I tried going through settings and accessibility and changing the Bluetooth setting to "Headset" but that didn't change anything. Also, I tried looking for the latest software and get the message that my OS is up to date. It used to work fine, but something has obviously changed....

Sounds like an issue with the head unit in your car. Have you tried it with any other bluetooth headsets?

Yes, it works fine with other phones, no problems

My head unit is a Sony XAV-58BT... I purchased it when I got my iPhone 5 2 years ago, because my older head unit didn't work well with the iPhone 5. It worked fantastic until a couple months ago,... not sure what changed...

That is not what I meant. When you pair your phone with a different bluetooth device/headset, does it work as expected?

Making some progress. After trying your suggestion and further playing around I found that it's not related to Bluetooth! When my phone is called and the phone is in password protected mode, it goes straight to voicemail, whether connected to Bluetooth or not. But when the password is entered it can receive calls in the car no problem. I don't know why yet, but making progress anyway. If you have any other thoughts, I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks.

You have turned on Do Not Disturb. That's why you see a crescent moon in the status bar. Pull up the control center and tap the crescent moon icon to turn it off.

OK, think I got it. It was a "Do Not Disturb" mode issue, where calls would not be received when in password protected mode. Need to check it in the cars but think that was it. Thanks again!
