Question

New to Apple TV setup help

AirPlay not appearing on any of my devices. (MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone 6) - Nor will it pair with my Apple wireless keyboard. I've updated and restated all devices to no avail. What am I missing?!

At this time the Apple TV4 does not support any wireless keyboard, including Apple’s. That functionality appears to be on the way in the next official release and is reported to be present in recent public betas. In order for the ATV4 to appear in AirPlay lists it must first be on the same network as the other devices. AirPlay must be turned on for the ATV4. Go to Settings->Airplay and verify the option is On.

The wireless keyboard bit is a little misleading, as it tells me to pair a keyboard and recognizes one. Fair enough, I guess. However, all devices are on the same network, an Apple router no less. Still, with relentless restarts and on/off - and back to on for all devices, none display an AirPlay option in the control centers. I'm baffled. It's as if the ATV is connected to the network but not connecting to the devices via that network. My Bose speakers connected to the same network are performing just fine from all devices. Any more ideas?
