Transfer contacts from one icloud account to another

Hey

I want to transfer all my contacts from one icloud account to another, help me how to do that? I have tried exporting contacts from icloud gear button but that didn't work. Is there any other way i can transfer all my contacts to my new account?

iPhone 5, iOS 9.2.1

Thanks again for your swift response guys.

I configured my old icloud in new device, synced all my contacts & deleted the account afterwards keeping my contacts on the phone & then reconfigured my new account. However i didn't get the merge option & when i backed up my icloud it didn't upload all my contacts thanks to AROHO.

FOxfifth: the bug is still there, contacts are not being exported & the download never actually begins.

what i did: I downloaded an app "my contacts backup" created .vcf file of all my contacts & emailed them to my gmail, afterwards i uploaded the same .vcf file to my new icloud account. But i dont know why the icloud duplicated all my contacts so I had to delete the copies individually. Anyways the problem is solved.

thanks & cheers guys

One option is to use a computer and log in to https://www.icloud.com/ and then click Contacts and then click the gear-shaped button at lower left and click Select All, then click the gear-shaped button again and click Export vCard. There was an ongoing bug where it was sometimes necessary to go back and click Export vCard two or more times before they would actually download -- not sure if that is still the case but your statement that exporting didn't work for you makes me think so.

Once you have successfully exported you can then log in to https://www.icloud.com/ using the other Apple ID and use the Import vCard option.

You can create individual iCloud IDs and keep the old ID as store ID, common for every user. That way you won't have to purchase everything again and still the data within your apps will remain different as your iCloud IDs are different.

Optionally, you can just create two more IDs and use family sharing with the first ID to share all your purchased content.

To transfer your data like contacts, notes etc. configure the old iCloud ID on a new device and when everything is synced just delete the iCloud ID. It should ask if you want to delete all your data from the device. Select "No". Then configure your new iCloud ID from iCloud settings and now it will ask if you want to "merge" all data.
