Q: iPhone showing itunes logo

Hello,

My iPhone is being a *****. Yesterday TouchID ceased to work. So today, I contacted Apple Support which advised me to restore my phone. Problem, as I was running the beta version of iOS 9.3, iTunes wouldn't let me restore it. So I had to download the 9.2.1 ipsw for my phone model manually, and then push MAJ and restore to select the file. I did that, but the restore got stuck, and the progress bar didn't move for over an hour, so I made a hard reboot, and of course, it showed up the iTunes logo, I'm fine with that because I knew that's what would happen. What I didn't expect is that iTunes wouldn't recognize my phone and turning it in DFU mode would make iTunes throw errors at me. How great. Now I'm left with a completely unusable iPhone 6s. Has anyone any ideas on how to fix this mess ?

Regards

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2.1

You were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement when signing up for the beta program:

    CUSTOMER SEED AND CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT

    OSX Beta Program FAQs>

The NDA prohibits you from discussing software beta issues here or anywhere else. The two documents above describe how to submit problem reports  to Apple.

You received  email instructions on what to do. We cannot discuss beta software in the forums.

What error messages are getting "thrown at you"? Did you delete the beta profile? This could be your issue. If my understanding of the public beta is correct, to opt out of the beta, you needed to have an archived backup made prior to installing the beta to use in case you wanted to restore out of the beta. I'm not sure anyone here could explain everything you need, since the discussion in the beta program is not allowed in the public forum. You may need to contact Apple Support directly.

I restored my phone using a 9.2.1 IPSW that Apple, as far as I know, still sign, or iTunes would have stopped the restore before starting it.

I'm not sure how this is related to me running the beta version ? Anyway, my apple customer care center is closed now (Europe). And tomorrow is Sunday, so I'm fairly unsure they'll be opened. I'd like to get this sorted out.

About the error, it was an unknown itunes error with an hexa code 0x*

I know under the beta system, despite the fact that the ipsw is still being signed, the beta changes your phone, and their are special directions to restore your device. You need to look at the information you received regarding the beta program, as was indicated earlier. I'm sorry, but it cannot be discussed on the public forum. This is one of the reasons they tell you not to use beta on a main use device. It is for app testing purposes.  About iOS beta software - Apple Support
