Use Eric's link and when talking to Apple, tell them you need an Apple ID password reset sent to an alternate email address. Once you are verified as the account holder, they can do this, but there will be a 24 hour delay in sending you that email.
Your Apple ID does not have to be a functioning email address, but IT SHOULD be. Otherwise you are not providing a way for Apple to communicate with you.
In your case, I would also suggest changing the email address associated with your Apple ID AFTER you get this fixed.
