Same issue for me on my iMac. (running El Capitan 10.11.3) I have checked for updates. I get this error msg when I try to sign in to the App Store:  "An unexpected error occurred while signing in.  Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance."

Some forums suggest deleting the NetworkInterfaces.plist file at the location Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration, and then rebooting, but I don't find such folder on my Mac. Please help.

Problem solved for me. Here's how...

Keeping in mind that there are 2 Library folders on a Mac, I went to the following location:

Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > SystemConfiguration

When in the SystemConfiguration folder, I deleted the file called NetworkInterfaces.plist

Then I rebooted the Mac, then went back to the App Store to sign in and I no longer had the problem. (My previous post said I couldn't find the SystemConfiguration folder. That was because I was looking in the wrong Library folder.)

I have this problem, too.  I tried the suggestion by user dtperkins, but it didn't work.

I found the correct Macintosh HD by opening Finder then searching in This Mac on the same page. Then followed this path as suggested by dtperkins:

Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > SystemConfiguration

When I found NetworkInterfaces.plist I removed by right-click Move to Trash (dragging it out didn't work).  Then rebooted my computer.

    Hope this helps.
