Airport utility requires "device password" ??

While trying to install the airport utility on my iPad I'm asked for the "device password" ("which may be different than the network password"). I tried the network password but it wasn't the right one? What is the device password?

iPad 2, iOS 9.2.1

Did you previously set up an Apple AirPort router using your Mac?

If yes, you set up a Base Station, or device password for the AirPort router in addition to a Wireless Network Password.

Do you still have the Mac?
