Q: mac mini ethernet connection
My Mac Mini (Last 2014 model) suddenly stopped connecting to my home network yesterday. I can still connect via wireless, but not through the ethernet cable.
I have tried to connect the Mac Mini to different ethernet ports, bypassing switches and routers, and using different cables. But it does not work anywhere.
Other computers (Windows) connect fine from all the ethernet ports.
Can anyone tell me how I can establish if this is a hardware issue or a software issue ?
In network preferences it just says "Cable Unplugged".
Thanks
Ian

Upgrading to 10.11.3 is what appears to have caused this issue for me.
I checked the support article and although I already had 3.28.2 installed, the manual update:
sudo softwareupdate --background
appears to have resolved the issue for me. I now have cable networking again
