Try deleting preferences. Hold down command and option keys and confirm
Did you delete preferences, as I suggested?
If you are not sure how to do it: hold down the command and option keys while starting FCP X. A dialog will appear asking if you want to delete your preferences. Confirm. After that you will need to open your library again.
Is there any solution to this? I have the same problem, Final Cut telling me my hard disk is full so I cannot save changes to my library. Yet there's 1.2 TB free on my external drive. It was working fine and then all of a sudden this error came up in the middle of my work...someone please help!!
HHow is the drive formatted? What are the permissions? Where is the library? How much space is there free on the system drive?
Hey Tom, Thanks for asking. My friend actually fixed it for me last night. We had to export xml from my old project. Then create a new folder, new library and new project on my external drive, imported xml and it works fine now! He said maybe too many projects/events were in the old library, but never saw the error before either.
Your disk is formatted as NTFS. This is not a good option for FCP X. It ought to be formatted as OS X Extended (Journaled).
Writing data to an NTFS drive requires third party software.
If you recently updated to El Capitan, the software you'd been using is probably incompatible and will need to be updated before you can write to that drive. Better yet, copy the contents of the drive to a second drive, and reformat the drive as OS X Extended (Journaled).
