Q: Setting up iMessage on an iPod Touch
I'm trying to setup iMessage on a 5th Gen iPod Touch for the first time.
Settings >iMessage> I sign in with my Apple ID and I get the pop-up saying "Verify an email address"
As soon as I tap on "Verify" I then get sent to the Apple ID - Manage your Apple account" webpage - nothing about sending a verification email.
Everything is fine on my Apple ID account - email addresses already verified.
I'm sick of going around in circles.
I don't have the option of turning iMessage off and back on yet as that toggle does not yet appear.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router and modem
- Try when connected to another network
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
