Error code 1600 when trying to restore Apple TV 3rd gen

Hey. So a while back my Apple TV stopped working all of a sudden.

It constantly blinks white, and stops blinking when I press the remote, so something is happening in there i guess.

I got the micro USB from apple and attempted to do a factory reset via Itunes on my Macbook, but I keep getting a 1600 error code.

I have tried looking through the support articles, but they offer very little help beyond the very basics.

What are my next steps?

Thanks in advance.

If your Apple TV fails to restore through iTunes……..

  • Check that you have correctly followed the instructions for your model of Apple TV.
  • If not already, try using a powered USB port.
  • Repeat the process but this time try connecting the cable while iTunes is closed.
  • Repeat the process with another cable.
  • Try restoring the Apple TV on another computer in another location.
