Question - External GPS Antenna

Hello Group,

Does any company out there offer an external GPS antenna/device for the iPhone 6 that is magnet mount type to allow for operation as an external gps antenna? I use my phone inside the cab of large heavy machinery/equipment where I have a large area steel roof over my head and do not have a clear view of the sky, only side windows, which are not good enough. Looking for a way to place the antenna on the roof and run the cable down into the cab to my iPhone Is there anything out there that will do the job or comes even remotely close to what I am looking for.

Thank you for your reply Lawrence,

I disagree that there is no place to connect it. The lightning plug is a possible option. I know of the Bad Elf GPS products and they plug into the iPhone through the lightning plug, but not quite what I am looking for as I don't want to be putting a $100 device outside in the rain/weather. I need something that allows for the electronic device to be inside the cab with me and the actual antenna outside on the roof. Anyone else know of anything that be what I am looking for?

I guess you could kludge a Bad Elf & a lightning extension cable (if such a thing exists, Amazon has them but I don't know if they are genuine 'made for iPhone'). Getting it by the window may allow it to see enough satellites.

There are a few car cradle devices that have active antennas. Otherwise there are some Bluetooth devices that may work if you can stick it to the windscreen or window.
