Q: Device Driver Issue -- Tried Everything

Hello All,

I have tried every answer I have found on here. The issue lies within iTunes not recognizing any device that I try to use (iPhone 6S, iPhone 5S, iPod). I have tried to re-install the driver multiple times (both through the automatic update system stuff as well as searching my computer and going through the folder to find it). Every time I get a message saying "You're driver/device or whatever is up to date." but the Code 52 still remains. I have looked up code 52 and went over everything. I have tried removing and reinstalling more than five times, I have tried going into the driver folders and making a backup and deleting the other, etc. I have tried deleting the mobile support and installing a new one and restarting, and once again removing and installing another few times. What else can I do? Is there any thing else to try? I have been unable to find anything else. Any help is greatly appreciated.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2

    Hello there, peckj22.

It sounds like you've done some great troubleshooting so far on your iOS devices not being recognized in iTunes. The following Knowledge Base article offers some steps you may want to review and additional recommendations as well:

If iTunes doesn‘t recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

When iTunes on your computer doesn't recognize your connected device, use these steps. Try again after each step:

    1. Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes that your system supports.
    2. Check that you have the latest software on your Mac or Windows PC.
    3. Make sure that your device is turned on.
    4. If you see a Trust this Computer alert, unlock your device and tap Trust. If the alert continues to appear, you might need to reset your lockdown folder.
    5. Unplug all USB accessories from your computer except for your device. Try each USB port to see if one works. Then try a different Apple USB cable.
    6. Restart your computer and iPhone, iPad, or iPod.
    7. To see if your device needs service, try another computer. If you have the same issue again, contact Apple Support.

If you don't see , ,  or by the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, check for third-party software conflicts. Then if you still need help, restart your Apple Mobile Device Service or contact Apple Support.

    You see a down arrow

If you see next to the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, right-click on the driver and choose Enable from the shortcut menu. Then if you still need help, contact Apple Support.

Thanks Pedro. I went through everything again. I was on the last part where it says to uninstall the driver, and then scan for hardware changes. When I do that, it never reinstalls in the Apple driver. Is that another issue, and what should I do to handle it?

    Try the following:

    1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. Plug in your device
    3. Locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
It is also possible the device may show under Imaging Devices, Portable Devices or Other Devices or as an MTB USB Device.
    4. Right-click and select Update Driver Software...
    5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
                      C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    7. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    8. Click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
    9. Click Next, then Close and exit Device Manager

Or try If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support.

Failing that try a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes as set out in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
