Q: How can I identify where iTunes Store credits came from?

Says $31.45   3 credits. Nothing else!  They just stay there while the $ amt decreases. On top of it, when I was setting up family sharing, it insisted I also enter a credit card even though I had $50 + credit there plus these 3 other credits what ever they are. What's that all about? Viewing my Purchase history isn't helping me at all. any ideas will be most appreciated. TIA. al

Not sure about the credit issue, but Family Sharing requires the person setting it up to enter a credit card. That is one of the requirements, no matter how much credit you may have. Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support

If you want to check with iTunes Support about your credits question, you can contact them with this link. http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction ChrisJ.

I did indeed contact Apple at the link your provided.   Thanks for that. Sometimes a straight forward contact portal can be so illusive.  In the end, I learned that when you are within the Family Sharing bag, unless you make your purchases from the precise device (identified by it's Apple ID)  that has your cash and credits, then all charges go to the provided credit card.

In my case, this would be my iPhone logged in as the Organizer account, as it was our first Apple device where I had been using gift cards prior to acquiring 2 more devices  and 'Family Sharing them'.  I have been making purchases on our new i-pad which wasn't touching my cash sitting there.

And as to the credits, apparently they are for renting movies. Apple rep says they come from 'one of the Advisor', whatever that means.  This info doesn't seem to appear in my purchase history though.

thanks again.  I hope this gives enough explanation for anyone else looking for these answers .

    cheers,

    allan
