Can not install mactex.pkg

I have tried to install mactex.pkg (LaTex for mac) but without success. When I double-click on a file, the installer icon appears in dock but I get the following error message: The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)

I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks.
