also go to the spotlight icon in the upper right hand corner of your screen and type "activity monitor" without the quotes
then click the memory tab, then the memory column so the arrow symbol (Caret) points down, this will give you a visual of what applications are using up the most RAM when in use.
If there is a you say "a lot of other complaining about..." contact Adobe see if their engineers can determine the cause, if it's an issue inherent with Illustrator they would be the ones who need to correct it.
Good day,
I have been fighting this battle in a classroom for months for this version. To fix it upgrade to 2017CC. The issue is a memory conflict between AI and the clipboard and is a bug for this version for anyone who installed between July-August 2015. I have scoured support forums for months looking for any documentation or acknowledgement from Adobe and have not found anything.
I sincerely hope this post helps you and others.
Regards,
This usually happens when trying to import a CMYK into an RGB document at the same time. Make sure all your files are one or the other so it doesn't take up so much RAM when trying to convert/save/import all at the same time.
quit out of any other open app to see if you can save your document.
How much RAM do you have? What else is open?
Hi,
I see this message on regular bases and it seems to be an Application error. Quit the application and the problem seems to be gone. I see this message on systems with >12 GB of free memory.
redacted - /viking.
My info is from the activity monitor. And I have seen a lot of others complaining about the memory error in illustrator 19.2.1
