Feb 29, 2016 7:19 AM in response to Terjiby BobTheFisherman,MacBook Pros are very sensitive to Ram being the correct specs for the computer. Use only the same specs for the RAM as your computer is designed for. Why would you think 1066 MHz clock speed RAM work in a 1600 MHz system?

Feb 29, 2016 7:27 AM in response to BobTheFishermanby Terji,I didn't, hence the inquiry.
The question however, remains unanswered.
Allow me to reiterate:
I am only interested in finding out if the RAM is the source of the problems with the computer. So I am not planning on running the laptop for an extended period of time with the wrong RAM, it's only to test it once.
So I ask; will the computer even boot up with the 1066 MHz RAM? Will it refuse to do so, or will it result in a cataclysmic failure?
Any insight is appreciated.
Thank you
Terji

Feb 29, 2016 7:35 AM in response to Terjiby BobTheFisherman,See Csound1's answer. Personally I have not tried out-of-spec RAM in my computer. But I can't see why it would boot. The clock speeds are different. Theoretically faster RAM should down clock to system speed but there is no way for RAM to up clock.

Feb 29, 2016 8:37 AM in response to Terjiby Csound1,★HelpfulAll you will learn is that 1066mhz Ram operating at the wrong speed will not work correctly. It is unlikely to cause any damage (unlikely=your risk) so try it out. Then get back to the real problem.
