Sudden shutdown because macbook too cold?

Hi there,

I use my Macbook Pro (mid 2012) and sometime it suddenly shuts down, although I have about 30% battery left.

The strange think is the temperature. If the macbook has a normal temperature, like in a normal room. Everything's fine and I can use it until the battery is empty. But If I take it with me in the car or have it lying in a room with less temperature I have often these shutdowns.

If I put it on the charger it shows 30% and is working as expected. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this started with the installation of El Capitan.

Does some one made a similar observation?

Here are the operating temperatures for a MBP:

I think that you should be well within those parameters. Reset the SMC:

If that does not resolve the situation, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bat for a FREE evaluation.

Ciao.
