Disable Auto Complete in Safari

Hi

I would like to turn off the Auto Complete fiction in the Safari browser in my iMac. It is a constant irritation. Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

@dominic23: Your's is the correct answer. "At present there is no option available for turning off auto completing url address." Too bad Apple won't mark your answer as "Helpful". I voted it as helpful, but that did not elevate it to getting a "Helpful" red star on the page. Why can't we just stop autocomplete all together? My guess is that Apple collects everyone's URL keystrokes, even incomplete ones, to add to their databases on USER behavior, which they then sell to advertisers. It's a revenue stream, so yeah, no way are they going to shut that down. Of course, that's just my guess.

Hi, Bee

Thanks for your speedy response.

What I want is to completely stop Auto Complete from functioning. I tried your suggestion, but it did not work, even after I closed out and then reopened Safari. Also, I have also unclicked all of the boxes in the Auto-Fill pane in Safari Preferences.

I want it to stop suggesting addresses when I type in the search/address bar.

Got any more thoughts? I would appreciate them.

Thanks, again
