Q: iphone5 home sharing circle stops halfway

I can't seem to get any of my devices to load home sharing now. Both phone and ipad are connected to wireless and home sharing appears as an option but when trying to load my library the circle stops halfway and then I get a message that says unable to turn on home sharing. How do I resolve this issue?

iPhone 5, iOS 9.2.1

    I've been having this problem recently too with my iPad mini (also iOS 9.2.1) connecting to a Mac mini with OS X El Capitan for the library. However, I also have a Macbook (OS X El Capitan) and after connecting its iTunes to the Mac mini Home Sharing library (which has never failed in my experience) my iPad worked every time (for now). Very strange behaviour. For me the circle kept stopping around a quarter of the way and I tried killing the Music app many times with no change prior to getting it to work. So if you have another Mac (or PC with iTunes) you could try this to see if it actually has some meaning or just coincidental....
